OFFICER KILLS NEGRO:--Henry Waddle of Somerset, shot and killed a negro, Joe Smith, on the streets there Saturday night. Waddle was bossing a gang of convicts, when Smith who had been ugly, drew a revolver and began shooting at him. Waddle returned fire, killing the negro. [1]---
[September 24, 1909] -
Henry Waddle, a Somerset policeman, shot to death Joe Smith, a Negro he was placing in jail. Smith had a pistol that Waddle did not know about. [2]
