A KILLING IN PULASKI.

Hamp. Angel Slain By Eli Farmer, Who Afterwards Surrenders.

Somerset, Ky., Sept. 16. -- (Special.) -- Eli Farmer, prominent politician of this county, yesterday shot and killed Hamp. Angel, fifteen miles east of this place. Angel was doing violence to Farmer's son at the time of the shooting. Angel was a desperate character, and had been in trouble. Eli Farmer stands well, and is a peaceable, law-abiding citizen. He was a member of the Legislature of 1889-90. Farmer gave himself up, and is in charge of the Sheriff. [1]

Farmer Claims His Son's Life Was in Danger.

Somerset, Ky., Sept. 16. -- Eli Farmer shot and instantly killed Hampton Angell yesterday. Angell is one of the Gilliland gang, and, it is claimed, was trying to kill Farmer's young son, when Farmer shot him. Farmer is a prominent politician. He has given himself up to the police. More trouble is feared. [2]

Hon. Eli Farmer, who killed Hamp Angel, in Pulaski, was discharged by the examining court on the ground of self-defense. [4]
