FLAT ROCK SCENE OF AWFUL TRAGEDY

Lige Taylor Shoot Hugh Pennington With Double-barreled Shotgun.

SOMERSET, Ky., July 5.-- A terrible tragedy occurred at the home of Tom Taylor, near Flat Rock, in the Southern part of this county, when Hugh Pennington was shot to death by Lige Taylor, son of Tom Taylor, with a double-barrel shot gun. The coroner says that the case of the tragedy was about as follows: "Pennington had gone to the home of Taylor in an intoxicated condition and was cursing and firing off his shot gun in a reckless manner and making threats to kill some one. He had stepped out of the house and was returning thereto when young Taylor opened fire on him with a double-barrel shot gun, one shot tearing away almost the entire shoulder and another tearing a terrible hole in the abdoman."

Taylor surrendered to the authorities and will be given a trial next Tuesday. [1]
